History of SweeTart Ropes

Sweetart, which was first released in 1963, has become a fan-favorite candy brand recognized for its exciting flavor combination of deliciously sweet and gently sour.

The well-known Nestle Company, based in the USA, owns the brand and has been producing SweeTarts for decades.

Sweetart ropes were thought by some to have been discontinued in the past. But it turns out that they were just retooled and relaunched as a new product named Kazoozles. This was part of their branding as a Wonka candy in the past but then they just changed it to be part of the SweeTarts candy line with the official launch in 2015.

They’ve dropped the Nerds and now come in two different varieties, viz., Sweet-tart rope bites and Sweet-tart ropes. These are being manufactured to date with a tag of one of the best sweet-sour candies available in the market.

How To Eat Sweet Tart Ropes?

It is fun to know that Sweet-tart ropes fans describe the candy with different textures. This is because they have different approaches to eat the candy. And with each approach, you will experience a different taste.

In general there are 3 different approaches – the bite and chew method and the squeezing the paste from the rope method, and the scissors method:

  • Bite & Chew: If you follow the age-old bite and chew method of eating, you will experience the mixture of flavors, textures, and variations of sweet and sour very precisely.
  • Squeeze the Paste method: If you try to pull out the paste from the rope, it can be a little clumsy, which might mute the actual punch of flavors.
  • Scissors Method: This is for the scientists out there and you know if you are one! Cut them with scissors length wise. It makes it more fun and you can share with a friend!
