Big Hunk Candy Bar is a long chewy candy bar that consists of roasted peanuts wrapped in a sweet honey-flavored nougat.
It is a little harder than a typical candy bar – you can hit it against something to break it into pieces while it is still in the wrapper! It is a long time favorite of kids and adults who love a honey nougat chewy candy.
The candy bar is produced by Annabelle Candy Company. The company has also introduced the mini version of the candy bar.

History of Big Hunk Candy Bar
Big Hunk Candy Bar first came into existence in the 1950s. It was initially produced and marketed by the Golden Nugget Candy Company in the United States.
In 1970, the Golden Nugget Candy Company was purchased by Annabelle Candy Company. Since then, the Big Hunk Candy Bars are made by Annabelle.
The Annabelle Candy Company was founded in 1950 by a Russian immigrant named Sam Altshuler. The company’s name was inspired by his daughter.
Over the years, the Big Hunk Candy Bar has seen changes in terms of its recipe. The manufacturers included fruits in the ingredient mix to experiment with the flavor. But due to extended production timing, they discontinued the idea.
The packaging has also changed drastically. Earlier, the candy bar had a plain white packet with the name of the candy written on it in bold letters. Many aesthetic elements were added to the external packaging.
Big Hunk Candy Bar sported the famous tagline, “Put Big Profits in your Pocket with Big Hunk.”

I remember the “BIG HUNK” candy bar since I was a child back in the early-mid 1960”s .
My Mother was in her 20’s and was a Model for Ford Motors at the Manzanita Speedway Track in Phoenix , AZ . She took us ( my older sister and myself ) out to the Races when we were 4 and 5 yrs. old to watch the races and see Mom award the trophies to the winners of the races ALL Year Long !!! I remember that “IF” we were Good at the races , She would buy a “BIG HUNK” candy bar for herself and split it into 3 pieces to share with us . This was our treat .
… Those years didn’t last long , but the taste lingered in my taste-bud senses for Decades .
Then , after moving from City to City and going to School to School for over 10 years … I got to the age of learning to “drive” in Ventura , CA. in 1979 and when I pumped my first tank full of Gas at a Gas Station in my First Car ( at 16-yrs old ) and when I went to pay for the bill , and noticed a “BIG HUNK” candy bar on the counter ??? I hadn’t seen those since I was 6 yrs old and almost lost My Breath !!! and … I bought one !!!
The memories soared , and the taste was re-introduced to my taste-buds !!! “GLORY DAY’s” !!!
Now , 35-yrs later … I wasn’t even sure “IF” it was still around (?) , but now ” I DO ” !!! Yep !!! I just found them on the internet , and , “Guess What” ??? I’ve even found them with Almonds “NOW” !!! WOW !!! “What a FIND” So , I just bought a Case of 288 bars over the internet !!! and , I’m gonna share my memories with many others !!! Ditto To You !
Enjoy Your Life , and “share” with many others !!! “I – Do” , Without Regret’s
