The Best Items on Chipotle’s Secret Menu (2023 Update)

Chipotle Secret Menu

Last Updated on January 31, 2023 by Jim Edwards

If you are a huge fan of Mexican food and have not tried it yet, you need to head to your local Chipotle Mexican Grill. They specialize in tacos and mission burritos that are prepared in front of you. They have other delicious items on the menu and burrito bowls, salads, and even kids’ meals. Make sure that you have a huge appetite, though. They are known to stuff their burritos until they are about to burst at the seams.

It may come as a surprise that Chipotle only has 5 items on their regular menu. But, they do offer a large variety of delicious goodies that you can put on top or inside of those five items—chicken, pork, barbacoa, steak, carne asada, tofu-based sofritas, and vegetables. Not to mention 4 kinds of salsa, queso, guacamole, and sour cream. Don’t forget beans, rice, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes.

The beauty of Chipotle is that you create your own items basically. So that leads to some awesome options in terms of their secret menu.

Let’s explore!

Chipotle Secret Menu Items

Chipotle Secret Menu Item – Nachos

One of my all-time favorite dishes is nachos. Who doesn’t love a huge pile of nachos with steak, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole?

Nachos are one of the most popular items on the Chipotle Secret Menu. Most employees are happy to accommodate you when you ask for an order of nachos. Since they are a secret menu option, the prices are going to vary slightly between establishments.

Just order your nachos with your favorite flavors; chicken, beans, cheese, queso, and sour cream. Want more, less, or something completely different? Be creative, unique, and make them just the way you like them.

Chipotle Secret Menu Item – Taco Salad

Another favorite Chipotle secret menu option is the Taco Salad. It is one of the harder secret menu items to order at many restaurants, mainly because they do not keep the fried tortilla bowls on hand. If you can get the employees to accommodate you, you will tell them everything you would like piled high inside the fried shell.

“May I please order a taco salad?” This is the ideal way to order something, not on the regular menu. Kindness goes farther than you think when you want someone to make something special. Fill the inside with lettuce, carne asada, pork, cheese, beans, and sour cream. If you prefer tomatoes and salsa, you can ask for those too. Order what your taste buds are telling you that they want.

Chipotle Secret Menu Item – Double Decker Taco

Why have just a regular, single taco when you can have a Double Decker Taco? You do not have to decide between a hard shell or a soft tortilla with the Double Decker Taco. You still have to choose your fillings: chicken, veggies, queso, or sour cream.

If you ask for a Double Decker Taco and ask you what that is or look at you confused (which they shouldn’t), it is simple; a regular hard shell taco with all of your favorites wrapped in a softshell that is covered in cheese. The Double Decker Taco is an explosion of flavors.

Chipotle Secret Menu Item – Quesarito

Do you want to try an even tastier explosion of flavor? If so, you need to order the giant Quesarito. If you have never had Chipotle, you need an enormous appetite if you will order this. Or, you can bring a friend or two to help you eat it. Just make sure that you all like whatever you are going to stuff inside this monster burrito.

To order the Quesarito, you need to order their signature burrito and ask them to wrap it in a cheese quesadilla. It has been said by many that it is worth the extra charge. It will fill you up for days!

Chipotle Secret Menu Item – Burritodilla

This bad boy is a smaller version of the Quesarito. You may actually be able to eat the Burritodilla all by yourself. Compared to the Quesarito, it seems like a snack! It is basically the same size as the Quesarito but with the only ½ of the fillings that go into the Quesarito or regular burrito.

Order the Burritodilla just as you are ordering a regular burrito or a Quesarito but ask them only to use half of the amount of filling that they normally would. Most Chipotle restaurants will be happy to create a kind Burritodilla.

Chipotle Secret Menu Item – Quesadilla

Unfortunately, unless you are ordering a kids meal, a Quesadilla isn’t on the regular menu at Chipotle. The majority of establishments do not have a problem making them for you if you order one. They believe that they should order anything the customer asks for, within reason, of course.

When ordering your Quesadilla, you can stick with the traditional Cheese Quesadilla, or you can go all out and add steak, cheese, veggies, and top it with sour cream and guacamole, or salsa and queso. Why not try beans and rice in a Quesadilla? The combinations are endless.

Chipotle Secret Menu Item – The 3-Point

Cheaper than a regular Chipotle burrito, the 3-Pointer is more appetizer because it only has 3 fillings instead of as many as you choose to stuff in the middle. You can make it even cheaper by going vegetarian and leaving out the meat. But, what is a burrito without meat? No matter what size it is.

Basically, you will order a Chipotle Burrito, if they do not know what a 3-Point is and tell them that you only want 3 fillings. It is that quick and easy; cheese, chicken, and lettuce.

Chipotle Secret Menu Item – Chipotle Extra Fillings

There are some fillings, like guacamole, that will cost you extra. But did you know that you can order as much salsa as you like and it is free? This allows you to request all 4 types of salsa, and there will be no charge for them.

Since Fajitas is not a regular menu item, most patrons do not know that Chipotle has the Fajita veggies. You can pile on (or in) the Fajita veggies at no cost also. All you need to do is ask for them. Or if you feel the need or the urge, why not just order some steak or chicken Fajitas?

There are actually more delicious creations on the secret menu at Chipotle than there is on their regular menu. A regular Chipotle menu consists of burritos, tacos, salads, bowls, and the kid’s menu. That is it! 5 items only. Again, there is a huge array of fillings that you can add to those items, making it seem like they have a grand menu of delicious Mexican cuisine.

There is a “build your own” option on the kid’s menu, or you can choose to purchase a Quesadilla with or without meat. The kids also get to choose between fruit or chips, and they get a drink to wash it all down. The kids’ meals are very inexpensive, and the kids will love them.

If you choose to dine in at a Chipotle Mexican Grill, and you are 21 years of age or older, they have a small handful of alcoholic beverages that you can order to accompany your meal. Otherwise, you can choose a bottle of water or your favorite type of soda.

Summary

Chipotle is authentic and organic Mexican cuisine. Honestly, it’s one of our favorite places to go because it’s a little bit of an upgrade from a standard fast food restaurant. And it’s usually a very consistent and enjoyable food experience.

They pride themselves on their friendliness, their willingness to make just about anything you request, and you even get to stand there and watch them make it, from start to finish. This way, you can see that everything you wanted is going into your burrito, salad, or bowl.
