The Klondike bar is an ice cream bar filled with artificial vanilla flavor and covered by a thick layer of milk chocolate. It’s a square-shaped vanilla ice cream bar with a light chocolate coating. You can take a bite and devour the delicious flavor of a Klondike bar, which is great year round, but especially in the Summer! The makers of Klondike bars only use milk produced by American cows, and the cows are not given any artificial growth hormone.

History of Klondike Bar

The Klondike bar was first produced in 1920 by the Isaly Dairy Company from Mansfield, Ohio; the ice cream bar got its name from the Klondike River of Yukon, Canada. Later, the rights of the brand were bought by Good Humor-Breyers, which is a division of Unilever. During this period, the first-ever advertisement of the Klondike bar was published, emphasizing being the first ice cream bar without a stick.

Henry Clark, the owner of Clabir Company, purchased the rights of the Klondike bar in 1976. Clarke increased the distribution of Klondike bars nationwide and made them available in every city during the 1980s.

This move by Clark skyrocketed the revenue of Klondike bars, taking it from $800,000 to $60 million. They also came up with the iconic jingle “What would you do for a Klondike bar?” The nationwide distribution and the new jingle created so much hype that the company couldn’t keep up with the demand, making Klondike the best-selling novelty ice-cream treat in the 90s

In 1993, Isalys sold to Unilever, after which the name Isalys was removed from the wrappers of Klondike. It is now sold by Good Humor-Breyers, which is an Ice-Cream division of Unilever.
