Mexican candies are some of the most unique candies in the market with their atypical combination of branding decals and flavor and naming choices. It is safe to say that Pollito Asado, more commonly known and also branded as little chicken lollipop, upholds this tradition very well.
As such, the candy has been a topic of dispute between confectionery enthusiasts for quite some time with a considerable segment adoring the distinct combination of sweetness and spice while others finding it to be unruly. Those who do like the candy can’t stop drooling over those sweet, sour, spicy, and fun taste sensations, and with good reason.
Mexican candies are notoriously addicting, and the Alvbro Little Chicken Lollipop is a concoction of addictive flavors all rolled into one. The lollipops are shaped like chickens and come in a variety of flavors, including peach and pineapple. They’re really spicy and make a wonderful spicy/sweet treat!
Brief History of Pollito Asado
Pollito Asado are manufactured and sold by a Mexican candy company by the name of Alvbro in their facility located in Mexico. The exact date on which the candy was invented or introduced has not been documented and therefore disclosed. The name of the candy – Pollito Asado – is a Spanish word which translates to “roasted chicken” in English.
The name of the candy has been inspired by the strange design it carries which is of a roasted chicken, however, ironically the taste of the candy nowhere near resembles that of a chicken.
Taste and Flavor of Pollito Asado
The Alvbor’s Pollito Asado (aka the Little Chicken Lollipop) is a delightful blend of 3 different and unique flavors: peach, pineapple, and chili. Peach and pineapple bring a fruity and sweet essence to the candy that goes beyond just the taste.
In between the two flavors, the generous amounts of powdered chili make an appearance every now and then providing you with a punch of spicy and fiery flavor that perfectly complements the sweetness and makes your taste buds tingle. While on paper the candy only has the three flavors mentioned just above, the lollipop goes a step further by adding a pinch of sourness and saltiness to the flavor.
The high-quality ingredients work well to ensure a strong yet pleasant taste that is incredibly long-lasting and lingers on inside your mouth even after you’ve finished the candy. One of the best things about the candy is that the taste remains consistent throughout and in all pieces of the pack which is not something that can be said about a lot of lollipops.
On a final note, the roast-chicken shaped lollipop is an overall enjoyable experience and an absolute charm for your taste buds.
This odd treat comes in a plastic packaging consisting of 40 lollipops, enough to last you a while. Unfortunately, this is the only size available. The serving size is of 1 lollipop piece which weighs in at 14g. the nutritional value per serving are as follows:
