Even though the confectionary world is filled with countless chewing gum options, the Fruit Stripe Gum holds a special place in the hearts of confectionary enthusiasts. With most of its targeted demographic having grown into adults, the chewy treat packs a nostalgic punch for a major chunk of candy lovers today. The gum is widely recognized for its distinctive striped appearance, which may or may not remind you of a zebra.
One commendable fact about the Fruit Stripe Gum was that the company behind the gum donated five cents from every sale of the jumbo pack and variety multipack of Fruit Stripe Gum to the World Wildlife Fund, which was established to help safeguard the habitats and lives of endangered species.
The World Wildlife Fund received a donation of more than a hundred thousand dollars. This drew a lot of attention to the Fruit Stripe Gum brand, and even more people fell in love with their products as a result.

History of Fruit Stripe Gum
James Parker was the man behind the invention of this unique five flavor gum which was initially sold by the Beech-Nut company in 1969. The Fruit Stripe brand was later acquired by Farley’s & Sathers Candy Company from The Hershey Company in 2003. After almost a decade, Ferrara Pan and Farley’s & Sathers underwent a merger in 2012 thereby forming the Ferrara Candy Company, which became a completely owned subsidiary of Ferrero in 2017.
A candy mascot by the name of Fruit Stripe Gum Man was also used to promote the chewing gum. The Fruit Stripe Gum Man was essentially just an oversized pack of gum with a face, arms, and legs, that many people found to be quite amusing. The mascot was accompanied by a whole family of striped animals referred to as The Stripes Family Animals.
The animals included an elephant, zebra, tiger, and a mouse. However, the zebra outlasted the other animals and later came to be known as “Yipes.” The slogan “Yipes! Stripes!” was often used in promotional campaigns for the candy.

What Does Fruit Stripe Gum Taste Like?
This tasty chewing gum comes in vibrant colors with contrasting stripes. Each pack of gum contains five different flavors that are cherry, melon, orange, lemon, and peach. The fruity flavors are strong and prominent. Best of all, the flavor is long-lasting and won’t go flat in a matter of few seconds as is the case with most other chewing gums.
Based on consumer experiences, each stick of gum will have a flavor that lasts for nearly 2 whole minutes. Additionally, each stick is of gum colorfully striped to signify its flavor, so you won’t have any trouble choosing out your favorite. Overall, the Fruit Stripe Gum offers confectionery lovers an excellent alternative to your run-of-the-mill mint chewing gums. Making the gum even more appealing for kids and teenagers are the temporary Yipes (the zebra) tattoos baked right into the wrappers of these marvelous gums.
And like most other chewing gums from reputable brands, the gum leaves your mouth with a lasting freshness and a pleasantly fruity breath.
