Lik-M-Aid (Fun Dip) Candy: Product Review

Lik-m-aid

Last Updated on July 29, 2022 by Jim Edwards

Fun Dip, earlier known as Lik-M-Aid, will make you nostalgic and take you back to the fun days of childhood. This candy was invented in 1952 and it will bring a lot of fun childhood memories for most people. Each pouch of Fun Dip has a sugar stick and a bit of powder for dipping.

Most of the customers consider the Fun Dip Candy stick the most exciting part of the candy. It’s neither sticky nor chalky. It is smooth like silk with a mind-blowing taste like a fine wine. The stick taste is so good that some people don’t bother to dip it in the extra powder. Also, the stick has the words “Lik.A.Stix” molded into their side.

It may sound hyperbolic to you but once you first taste the stick you will remember the flavor. It’s a great, almost perfect balance of sweet and sour in one candy. So it is a great juxtaposition of these flavors which are usually separate. We have known friends who have gone through a box of 40 plus sticks in a week! (Not us, LOL, but maybe). And it is an incredibility popular candy for Halloween too.

History of Fun Dip (Lik-M-Aid)

Ferrara Candy Company manufacturers some of the best candy brands, and Fun Dip is one of them. The candy started its journey in the US in the 1940s. The last name of Fun Dip was Lik-M-Aid. Initially, it was available for US and Canadian citizens. Fruzola started manufacturing it in the earlier stage, and then Sunline Inc. took control of it. In the year 1989, Nestle acquired the Fun Dip candy brand. Finally, in 2018, Ferrara bought Fin Dip with other Wonka Candy Brands.

In the early day, when the product was known as Lik-M-Aid, it used to come in 4 packets of flavored sugar with different colors. In the 1970s, the new name Fun Dip came into existence in place of Lik-M-Aid. The manufacturer started producing it with two edible candy sticks called “Lik-A-Stix.”

Flavors of Fun Dip Candy

It comes in two flavors: cherry-yum-Diddly and the razzapple magic. Cherry flavor provides red color, whereas razzapple or raspberry flavor has blue/green colors.

The manufacturer sells both flavors together in one pack.

However, the cherry flavor has a huge fan following.

Some customers take the sugar stick from the raspberry package and leave the remaining item attended. In the 1980s, it used to come in an original tri-flavored pack of lime, cherry, and grape.

Fun Dip became famous for plenty of flavors like orange, cherry, grape, raspberry, Apple, sour watermelon, sour apple, and sour lemonade in the initial days. Later, Fun Dip candy with one or two flavors became the standard instead of three flavor package.

Parents often buy Fun Dip for their kids as a special treat. They motivate the children to do extra chores to get a Fun Dip candy, you know, as most parents do.

Fun Dip (Lik-M-Aid) Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How to Eat Fun Dip?

This one is simple – there is no right way to eat fun dip! Most people will lick the stick and then dip the stick into the powder. But the stick is sweet and the powder is sour, so people who like sweet might just eat the stick. And people who like the powder may just have the powder. And of course if you are doing this with a friend, you can trade sticks for powder and vice-versa. In our experience, kids do this a lot!
