David Klein named Cry Baby Tears, he is also the original inventor of the Jelly Beans candy. Cry Baby Tears Extra Sour Candy is owned and produced by the Tootsie Roll Industries.
Cry Baby Tears Extra Sour Candy came into existence for the first time in 1991. Philadelphia Chewing Gum Corporation were the original producers of the Cry Baby Tears candies. The company was situated in Havertown, Pennsylvania. Tootsie Roll Industries bought the Philadelphia Chewing Gum Corporation and then they became the sole manufacturer and marketeer of the Cry Baby Tears Extra Sour candies.
The name ‘Cry Baby’ was inspired by the fact that the candies are sour enough to make you cry.

Cry Baby Tears Extra Sour candies are extremely sour. The sour intensity is high enough to bring you to tears if you continue popping multiple pieces. But we should not the pieces are very small and much smaller than all other sour candies we can think of. So if you like a little bit of sour, but not too much, these are a fantastic option!
There are five flavors available – orange, watermelon, berry, cherry, apple, and lemon. The candies are a kind of hard candy. It is not easily chewable in the beginning, so it is best to just let them dissolve in your mouth as you experience the fruity and sour flavors.
