What are Sour Jacks?
Sour Jacks are a brand of chewy and gelatinous candies that are quite popular in the United States. They are bite-sized, soft, and chewy candies that are covered in sour sugar, mouth puckering candy.
In the past, these candies have often been confused with Sour Patch Kids because they had a very similar appearance, but they are made by different companies and come in different flavors.
Very recently in April 2021, these Sour Jacks have been completely redesigned in wedge designed shapes and also some new flavors were added to the lineup. Honestly, this is one of the most exciting candy redesigns we have seen in many years!
They have a fun wedge shape and are coated with sour sugar to give a very sour exterior. The sour sugar is the first thing your taste buds will detect and then as you chew you get to the soft, sweet center.
Sour Jacks are available in four bags, packaged in a resealable bag. The flavors are:
- Sour Jacks Original (mix of lime, lemonade, cherry, strawberry, and orange)
- Sour Jacks Watermelon Sour Wedges (taste of Sweet Summer Watermelon)
- Sour Jacks Wildberry Sour Wedges (amazing tart berry blend)
- Sour Jacks Green Apple Sour Wedges (crisp, sweet and sour)

What is the taste and flavor of Sour Jacks like?
Sour Jacks candy wedges are soft and chewy. They are bite-sized and have a gelatinous texture. The candies are coated with sugar grains which adds a sweet aftertaste to the tangy blast in your mouth.
Sour Jacks come in four flavors:
- Sour Jacks Original Sour Wedges: It is a mix of lime, lemonade, strawberry, cherry, and orange flavors. All the flavors are extremely tangy.
- Sour Jacks Watermelon: The flavor is a mix of sweet and sour.
- Sour Jacks Wildberry: The berry flavor is strong, and the candies are sour.
- Sour Jacks Sour Green Apple: It is a bit sour with a sweet aftertaste.

The ingredients in all the flavors of Sour Jacks are sugar, corn syrup, modified corn starch, gelatin, fumaric acid, citric acid, malic acid, sodium citrate, titanium dioxide, natural flavors, artificial flavors, and artificial colors (Yellow 5, Blue 1, Red 40).
