Taste and Flavor of Pico Mediano

Made with a unique mix of flavors coupled with an even more outlandish texture, appearance, and name, the Pico Mediano embodies the Mexican spirit in its true essence. This oddball confection comes in an unusual flavor made from the combination of artificial orange flavoring and chili powder. The result of this never-before-seen flavor combo is a sweet, sour, and spicy delight that you just cannot get enough of.

While on paper, the candy only claims to have orange and chili flavors, however, put the candy into your mouth, and you’re greeted with an explosion of tasteful varieties, which includes saltiness, sweetness, sourness, and of course, spiciness. Although the candy has been endowed with a variety of distinct flavors, they all work amazingly well together, uplifting the overall taste of the candy as a whole.

Astoundingly, all these flavors don’t blend into each other as one would expect based on past experiences. Instead, each flavor retains its individuality allowing the taster to clearly know which is which, making the tasting experience even more pleasant. Even more surprising is the fact that although a synthetic orange flavoring is used in the manufacturing of the candy, the high-quality ingredients make it impossible for one to detect the artificialness.

Between the sweetness of the candy, generous quantities of chili powder great your taste buds every now and then, blessing you with a rush of fiery flavor that perfectly complements the sweetness and sourness of the orange flavoring.

The strong and premium quality ingredients used in the candy combined with an exceptional flavor combination work incredibly well to grant you a strong, long-lasting, and pleasant flavor that will linger on your tongue for hours after you’ve finished the candy and impart you with a refreshed and somewhat spicy breath.

The Shortcomings of Pico Mediano

While there are indeed a lot of things this Mexican delight does really well, there are also areas where the candy falls short. One of the most major areas where the candy lacked was consistency. Knowing how the candy has a powdered appearance, often the chili powder and the rest of the sweet and sour portions of the candy aren’t very well mixed or in the right proportions.

The result was that most of the time, only one flavor would dominate the taste of the candy, with the other flavors coming into play only when the previous one had completely run out. Consequentially this felt as if you were individually chugging on sweet, sour, and spicy powders one after the other in random order.

Moreover, sometimes the proportion of sweetness, sourness, and spice did not match up quite while with one flavor being a bit more prominent than the others than you would like it to be. Lastly, there are also complaints that the taste of the is not consistent across all the pieces that come in a pack. Sometimes the candy will be a bit too much to the spicy side, while in others, the sweetness will be the leading flavor.

Summary of Pico Mediano

Mexican confections are a delectable delight to behold, known for their out-of-the-box names, appearances, and flavor combinations, and we can say with utmost certainty that the Pico Mediano does not fall short of this description. These Mexican confections always amaze you with their unusual mix of flavors brought to life by their powdery appearance and texture.

However, like most things, these candies are not free from their own set of flaws. The inconsistent blending and proportions of the ingredients are a major con of the candy. Hopefully, though, with time, Pico will improve upon its shortcomings leading the Pico Mediano into the ranks of the most top-tier candy available in the market.
