Hardees was first established in 1960. Wilber Hardee opened the first establishment in September of that year in Greenville, North Carolina. Can you imagine 10-cent fries, 15-cent hamburgers, and 20-cent milkshakes? That is what Mr. Hardee charged in 1960. In the 1970s, with over two-hundred locations, Hardees updated and added to their menu; made from scratch biscuits and roast beef sandwiches. 1980 brings the opening of the 2,000th restaurant and the release of the Cinnamon ‘N’ Raisin biscuit.
In 1990 CKE Restaurants took possession of Hardees. This creates 3,828 establishments in 10 foreign countries and 40 states. The 2000s brought Hardees signature Thickburger. They made this favorite with 100% Angus beef. Going strong for over 55 years, Hardees has delicious made to order food. Whether you are looking for breakfast, lunch, or just a snack; you have an array of options to choose from.
Today, we are going to dive into those menu items and see how loyal customers have used them to create Hardees Secret Menu Items that are fun and delicious!
Just a warning, you may not want to read this on an empty stomach! Just the thought of a nice hot, juicy cheeseburger and crispy onion rings is making my stomach growl.

Our Favorite Items From Hardees Secret Menu
Monster Biscuit
The first secret menu item was on the regular menu when I worked at Hardees five years ago. It was one of the most popular breakfast items we had on the menu. Paired with a small cup of coffee and it set you for the day. If they have taken it off of the regular menu, you can still order this delectable breakfast item, because all the ingredients are readily available.
We loaded the Monster Biscuit with egg, cheese, sausage, and ham; stuffed inside of a warm, buttery biscuit. This is the perfect secret menu item for those of you that have an enormous appetite. Pair it with some “hash rounds” and an orange juice for the best breakfast ever.
Chicken Stuffed Super Star
Keep in mind, Hardees and Carl’s Jr. are sister establishments. This secret menu item originally started at Carl’s Jr.. If you thought the Monster Biscuit was a meal for a large appetite, just wait until you order this gigantic sandwich. You will definitely have to have a HUGE appetite to eat this bad boy.
To order the Chicken Stuffed Super Star, simply order the Super Star with cheese (or a double cheeseburger, if your local Hardees don’t have the Super Star). This burger comes with tomato, onion, lettuce, mayo, pickles, two slices of cheese, and Special Sauce. You will then need to order the breaded chicken sandwich (or a spicy chicken sandwich, if available). Take them home or to your table and put them together. Now that is a massive sandwich!

Rodeo Burger
You can have this Hardees Secret Menu item at any fast-food restaurant, or sit down establishment, that serves cheeseburgers, onion rings, and has bbq sauce. This secret menu item packs a ton of flavor into one monster sandwich and is extremely simple to order.
When you are ready to order the Rodeo Burger, you will just need to order a double cheeseburger combo meal with onion rings and ask for bbq sauce. Take the top bun off of the cheeseburger, top it with the crispy onion rings, and slather on the bbq sauce; replace the top bun and eat like a champion.

The Harold
This Hardees Secret Menu item may be a little more difficult to order. Depending on your local Hardees restaurant, they may or may not whip this up for you. But have no fear, you can order the items needed and put it together yourself. If your local Hardees don’t carry shredded cheese, then you may have to ask for a slice of cheese, or for-go the cheese.

The Harold is simply Hardees biscuits and gravy topped with egg, hash rounds, and cheese. If your local Hardees are unwilling to put this together for you, then you can order the biscuits and gravy with a side of egg, hash rounds, and a slice of cheese. Otherwise, you can also order the Hardee’s Breakfast Platter. This platter comes with everything that makes up The Harold, except for the cheese and you have a choice of breakfast meat.
With so many delicious options on the regular menu at Hardees, there are so many secret ‘creations’ that you could come up with. For instance, you could order the Hand-Breaded Chicken and Waffle Sandwich and have Hardee’s add an egg and a slice of cheese (or just the cheese). How about ordering a hot apple pie and having them add a scoop of ice cream, for a dessert that is second to none? Maybe order The Big Hardee; which is two patties, classic sauce, lettuce, and two pieces of cheese, and add some crisp bacon or a crispy chicken patty?

Summary of Hardee’s Secret Menu
We could sit here all day and come up with our own secret menu items, combining things that are on the regular menu. It would be fun, interesting, and we would have some unique ideas and suggestions. But instead of doing it, here with me, why not head over to your local Hardees and see what you can come up with? Maybe check out their menu items online, www.hardees.com, put something together, and then head over to Hardees for lunch. No matter what you choose, they make Hardees food to order, so it is always fresh!
Believe it or not, I actually miss working at Hardees. It was a great place to work, with hard-working employees, good management, and the food is some of the best ‘fast-food’ out there. But don’t take my word for it. If you have never eaten at a Hardees (or a Carl’s Jr) then you better get going! It is definitely something that you do not want to miss out on.
